My EDC is a mini-vulcan. Every day it goes in the same pocket, the same location, the same everything. However, they just keep breaking on me. The first one got caught on the seatbelt as i was getting out of the car and just snapped. The replacement clip I guess got caught on the couch i was laying on and snapped.

My only guess is that there might be a weak point in the clip design because they both snapped at the exact same part.

here's a picture of the two clips, i lost the actual clip part of the first one but you get the idea.

I feel rather bad emailing the SOG reps every time it happens because i know its my fault, so what im asking is, does anyone know of any replacement clips that will work that might be a little sturdier? I have a visionary II and that clip feels a lot stronger and that's never broken when i carried it. But when i asked SOG about it, they told me each blade had an individual clip that wasn't exchangeable.

Something worth noting, I read somewhere a while back that SOG designed clips, on at least the Visions, to bend or break before damaging the knife at all. I bent the clip pretty good on my Night Vision just a week or two after I bought it, but I bent it back and it didn't strip out any screws, so I'm happy. Good luck, though!

You could take the clip off altogether. Other than that you'll just have to be careful where you clip it. The clip looks similar to the one that was on my Flash II I don't remember snagging it on anything while I had it on there.

I have the Vulcan also. I ground off the disc shaped end part of the clip because it was uncomfortable in my hand. Basically, I made it look more like the clip on my Benchmade 710. The added bonus of this is that the clip is less likely to snag on things. I will post a picture of my modified clip tomorrow.
