I am very new to forums and don't know much about knives, so please help.
I am looking for a folder with blade length 3"-4" and a pocket clip for every day use like cut plastic bags, carbord box, peel a fruit or slice tomato for my lunch.
Is Hard Use Emerson (Traveler or Endeavor) a good choice?
Thank you for help

Spyderco Delica/Endura would serve your purpose well and they are economical and razor sharp.

I have an Endeaver and carry it all the time it is a great knife they can be picked up on ebay for little money. They are aus 8 but it will work fine for the price you will likely pay for it and I have much more expensive knives but it gets used alot and is pretty good quality.

The Benchmade Griptilian or similar, approx $60 I think.
I currently carry a Benchmade 721 which has served its purpose very well and I love the axis lock more than any other locking system I've ever seen/used.
Whatever you choose, enjoy your knife.

The Endeavor is a good knife but I would opt for the Spyderco Delica or Naitive because of the better VG-10 steel. Its been my experience that VG-10 holds an edge much better than AUS-8.

There are quite a few excellent Spyderco knives in the 40 dollars price range, like the FRN Delica, Endura, Native or Centofante III. In fact I think Spyderco is the only company to offer premium steel like VG-10 at such a low price.

The BM 550 Griptillian is another excellent choice for an EDC folder. I like the blade shape a lot, the steel is 440C which is very good (you can get D2 from Cabella's), and the handle is as ergonomic as it gets. It costs around $60 and it is worth every penny.

The Ka-Bar Dozier folders are probably one of the best deals going on in the knife world today. For a measly 20 bucks you get a very good knife, and there are a couple of designs to choose from.

I second the recommendations for the Spyderco Delica and Benchmade Mini-Griptilian. I own both of them and they are a pleasure to use. The one-handed opening and closing is extremely convenient.

I would recommend a Spyderco Calypso, Jr. Or any Spyderco for that matter.

If you want to peel fruit and slice tomatos and not have to worry about cleaning off the juice right away, then try the Spyderco "Salt series":

The Salt I
The Atlantic Salt
The Pacific Salt

You will not regret the purchase!

Good luck,
Allen.

Much has been written on these forums here lately about the availability of the Spyderco Native at local Walmarts around the country. You really need to check into this. These Natives have been selling for around the sixty dollar mark and now that WallyWorld has them they are pumping them out for forty. Unfortunately its the plainedge model only at this time.

A stunning bargain on a great pocketknife.

For his stated purposes, plain edge is probably his best bet.

I can vouch for that!!! I just got my plain edge pacific salt today and used it as my lunch knife. I like it so much I'm going to get another one but I havn't made up my mind which one yet maybe the serrated salt 1. I was going to give a review and will probably do so soon after some more use. I really love the shape of the blade, I thought I would miss the point but it's like a mini santuka! It's very sharp and slices great but they say the serrated version is harder due to the nature of the steel. It would probably be better for cutting boxes and utility use. I'll probably get the serrated salt 1 and another plain edge pacific. It was nice not to have to worry about drying the knife when I was done.
