Hi guys,

For EDC purposes would you take the CQC-10 or the CQC-15 ?

Please develop a little your answer with examples in order I can balance my choice.

Thanks in advance for your advised feedbacks

I would choose the 10 because I like the Spyderco style round hole opener. That's my only reason for preferring it over the other model.

Thx man,

I am like you I prefer the hole. :)

but for practical reasons I wonder if the shape of the cqc-15 is not limited in duties ?

For general use I'd go with the CQC-10 also.

Reason - Spearpoint is a bit more all around task oriented vs. a Recurved Tanto.

I agree with all of the above. My CQC-10 has the most comfortable and secure grip of any knife that I own. As well, the spear point blade is easy to sharpen and useful for general purposes.

i would go with the '15 i like the grinds, neither one would be any where close to my top choice though, which would be a CQC12 or '13.

10 unless you want the headache of sharpening the 15.

I personally wouldn't have a problem sharpening the 15 and to me it's the more interesting design, despite the recurve. I'd prefer the Mini 15 over both. I doubt you'll ever find yourself in a situation where you can accomplish a cutting job with one and not the other.

Many thanks guys,

I appreciate ;)

Arf...difficult choice for me. By reading you, it seems to be a question of tastes...

For sure the sophisticated blade of the 15 is noble, but the aggressive basic shark-shape of the 10 is also attractive.
For info I will take a plain edge satin finish. i love-

Even with the Sharpmaker from spyderco, sharpening the 15 could be difficult ?

Regarding the Tip, cqc-15's tip can chip easily ?
I ve seen that on a report on Youtube, but the guy deleted this affirmation.

imho the sharpmaker isnt a good choice to sharpen any EKI, the angles arent right, the best way is to go to the emerson website and do as the tutorial instructs, and dont get me wrong i love my sharpmaker and use it all the time, have had one for years now, but a norton india stone and a strop or bit of cardboard work faster and better.

other than the P-Tac imho no EKI's are prone to the tip breaking/chipping.

and yes the '15 is a bit harder to sharpen than say a CQC7b, but its certainly no harder than say a commander or an '8..

I own and have carried both. I'd go with the CQC-10. I love the shape and look of the 15 but for EDC the more classic blade shape of the 10 and the ergos gets the nod IMO.

But in reality, you know you going to get them both.... :p
