Hi Zalman welcome to the forums.

I'm afraid you posted this in the wrong forum. This sub forum is for TRADITIOAL folders and fixed blades. I'm sure a mod will move it for you in a few minutes.

As for your original question it would be usefull to know what you are planning to do with your knife. I am assuming you want a camp/survival knife. If I were you I would take a look at the ESEE and Becker subforums.

For a first knife, I'd say buy what you like.

I feel that you need some hands-on time with actual knives before you figure out what kind of knife that you need and want. Neither of them are bad knives...though pretty different.

whats your price range $ are you willing to change your selections? take a look at Spyderco line up and Benchmade, Sog, Kershaw, even Cold Steel, take your time, thier are alot of knives out there!!! Fixed blade or Folder? pros and cons would be good to go by.

Sorry i had posted in the wrong forum . Ok I see what you mean. Now i will choose the correct knife .

My price range is 70$. Maybe I will change my selections. I have take this knife because the ontario look like John Rambo knife and i think it's a good knife.
And the gerber gator was used by Bear Grylls and i don't know other brand.

For us knife knuts the Ontario is far from a "military agent" knife. With that said...it doesn't mean that sheeple (people who are afraid of X, Y or Z in and of itself) won't think the knife is overkill.

My two cents...get the Ontario its a classic and its carbon steel!!!

Ok thank you all  :). I will choose the ontario because i like the design and they say it's made in USA :). And the price are 70$.
I will post my knife on the forum when i will have it.

Good Bye.

Of those two, I'd say Ontario though my son's is tough to put an edge on. If you are open to other knives in that price range, have a look at Becker. The Becker BK-2 will perform rings around those two and will last your lifetime and more (assuming you don't do something silly like throw it).

who appointed you the forum police?

He appointed himself as the forum police, and from the looks of it, he is doing an EXCELLENT job!

Nothing wrong about pointing out the mistake to a newbie.:)
