This is a decorative Spanish sword blade honoring Alfonso X of the 13th century. These generally started appearing in the post WWII era and there are a number of regularly found meant to Honor notable Spaniards of the past.

Considering the condition, it is quite possible the fittings went to furnish a working blade. Although this blade may not be a stainless steel, it is likely quite soft and was never made for use. There ae Alfonso X swords made to this date.

You can tell by the very thin tang (the part that the handle would fit on) that it is not a sword meant for fighting with. It was a decoration for putting on the wall.

Thank you for your help
It apeared that is writing "ALFONSO XI" not X

So is it just the same

It looks like it says ALLONSO X not sure if there is an I or not certainly looks like it could be but from what I understand that is the supposed to be a name of some historical Spaniard.

Alfonso

Alfonso X (also occasionally known as Alphonso, Alphonse, orAlfons, 23 November 1221 – 4 April 1284), called the Wise (Spanish: el Sabio), was the King of Castile, León and Galicia from 30 May 1252 until his death in 1284. During the election of 1257, a dissident faction chose him to be Roman-German king on 1 April.
