I have lost a screw from my pocket clip of my new XM18 Hinderer  I need to know where I can get one and what size and type wrench it takes? Any advice would be helpful! THANK YOU!!!! :D Kevin

Rick Hinderer makes his own hardware. Contact him via email and I am sure he would send you what you need.

I have sent 2 emails to him today. I hope he will reply soon so I can start carrying this awesome knife. I have looked EVERYWHERE for that screw! I just got this knife and dont understand how it could have came out. If anyone has any extras let me know:D THANKS! Kevin

while Rick makes his own screws , you can easily find something that works in the mean time. If you have a local hardware ( real hardware store ) they should be able to hook you up , or try a RC Hobby shop , they tend to carry the smaller size screws.

Appears as though they probably 2-56 size torx screws , short buggers too I bet , maybe 1/4" or 3/16 long ?

REAL SHORT! Thank you for the help. I will look into getting some spare screws. I think Rick will send me some to have. THANKS for the idea! Kevin

You can still carry your knife while waiting for the replacement from Rick. It already has 2 spare pocket clip screws installed on it...

Thanks, I will do that! Just to nice to sit around and not carry! Kevin :thumbup::thumbup:

Went through this crap w/ Microtech a few years ago and wound up spending $75
just so I could take off the damned pocket clip. Will never buy another Microtech again. Ernest Emerson does everyone a huge favor by just using normal, plain-ass SCREWS.

ummm....exactly.

just remove the plate from the other clip attachment point.

voila!! two extra screws.

Man is Rick a class act! He is sending me some screws and a wrench tomorrow!!! Thanks to all of your guys help! It is always fun to be on the forums!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Kevin

I am trying to relocate the clip but having problem with the screws. I cant find a wrench that can fit it. Someone mentioned 2-56 torx screw here but i thought it looks more like allen head to me. BTW I know whats a torx screw is but i dont understand 2-56, I thought torx screw sized designation are T1, T2 etc...

Anyway please forgive me if i misread or misunderstood or I am just ignorant about the various wrenches and screw sizing stuff.

why a wrench? aren't the clip screws phillips head on every xm-18?

When I used to own a xm-18 I lost a screw and after contacting Rick, he sent a couple in the mail for me. I tossed him a few bucks for the screws and shipping.

2-56 is the size and the thread pitch count.

Again they are hex or philips, not torx.

That is what I think I saw, they are hex but what is the size? Its so tiny... i cannot even fit a H1.5
