I found this folding knife today while digging in my backyard; it's about 4 1/2 inches long, has bone handles, and the blades are so corroded that I can't tell how many there are. There's a crest on the handle but no maker name inscribed. It's in pretty bad shape and completely worthless but was wondering if any knife affectianados out there might be able to tell me anything about it. TIA! Here's a pic:

Well I do not have a clue :D, but from the looks of it I think it was a pretty darn good knife at one time. A lot of companies used heraldic sheilds so at this point maybe a Winchester or dozens of other companies could have made it.

There are some folks who hang around here that can venture a better guess than that. Let's see what they come up with.

Poor puppy has seen it's best days. :)

Spray it with Knockloose or something similar several times over a period of a day or so. And then soak it in oil, any oil, for a week and see if you can get it to open. Maybe some of the crud will come off for a better look.

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't think I'll do the oil-soak thing since the knife really has "had it" and nothing except the handles and ends have survived.
