Ban has done some pretty amazing work on Busses. You might look him up. There are several other guys on here that could probably help you also, but I can't recollect any names just yet... I'm sure some guys will chime in with suggestions.

I would also love to see picks of an ugly Busse. I just bought an SS, and started using it right away. I am still trying to decide the best approach to sharpen this blade shape. I might have to try and use sandpaper and eventually make the blade shape flat.
some pumpkin bling, because most posts can use some infi.

Soup_monger I believe has the most useful (not to mention beautiful) looking SS mod that I have seen so far. He ground off the spine grooves, satinized the blade/tang made the blade a straight edge and sanded down the handle slabs to make the handle slabs from textured to smooth. In his post on it he say's it's his most useful knife and I believe it. As far as sharpening goes a straight edge has always been the easiest for me no curves to adjust for and with the normal blade geometry being that of the recurve variety I can see why sharpening would be difficult. the only complaint I would have w/ Soup's modded SS would be that he didn't leave a quarter inch of meat (infi) surrounding the bottom talon hole. but after all it's a Busse made perfect for Wharncleft

Ps- You can get Infi to shine like a mirror if you are willing to put the work into it!

i will post pics as soon as i get my cammra back from my GF. its not so much ugly as just not finished, :D So who can do it?

You can do it. Use the search to find threads about stripping and sharpening. There are tons of them.
Will save you money and you have to learn to sharpen anyway.

If you want to pay someone try sending Ban a PM, or maybe Ducci. They do great work.

This is one I did a couple mods on, a little extreme, maybe, but it's easy to sharpen now:thumbup: I've thought about smoothing the G-10 but haven't got around to it yet. Good luck with yours!:D

Thanks Blairdoc.

I stand by the statement I made about my Wharncliffe Sus Scrofa being the most useful knife I have owned.

...And it's now the only Busse I own. :)

how the hell did you do that? Thats SO SO nice!!

Thanks.

I won't kid you by saying it was easy...but... slow and steady work with a cheap belt grinder and a cheap bench grinder produced that knife.

The handle slabs were shaped by hand.

I then thinned out the edge by hand using sandpaper on top of leather.

well im going to get a cheep grinder tomorrow wish me luck hope i dont mess up my SS.

If i do.................i will just have to get a fat game warden at blade i guess. :D
