I just received my new HEST-f from Dale (Your shipness speed is amazing pal, regards), but I cant reliably open the damn thing with one hand a s is supposed to be. I already turn the adjustment screw, but to no avail. Please fellow knifelovers, give your savvy ideas. Thanks in advance to all.

not to sound like a wise guy, but see if you are not holding your fingers on the lockbar while trying to open it
better than that, as Gianni from Lionsteel suggested, try opening it with your other hand, and that way the lock bar will be free from any additional pressure, and then you'll know if you're holding it right for an easy opening, or that you have a problem
if is still hard to open it with your other hand too, than you may have to send it in , or if you want to fix it yourself, maybe sand the edges of the hole in the blade for the ceramic ball, (edit) : though i wouldn't really recommend that

It may just take opening and closing a few hundred times to break it in. This was the case with the LE edition I received.

It's a common issue for new users to frame lock folders. When you hold the knife, your tendency is to put pressure on the handle with your index and middle finger. But in case of frame locks, you're applying opposite pressure to the lock. And harder you try to deploy the lock, it's more likely that you're applying even more opposite pressure.

It's just a matter of practice and getting used to the idiosyncrasies of the new knife. Shift your fingers off the lock bar and try again.

Its a common complaint with the hest/f. If its not user error, as others suggested, it will have to be sent in for repair.

Many thanks for your suggestions, I will try them all. Hope to give you good news soon. Take care.
