I've been using my Orange Military as my go-to EDC knife for a month or so, and I think I should change it up a bit. This will go up for a week, and the one with the most votes gets a month in my pocket.

EDC tasks range from cardboard to finger nails, plastic packaging, food items, some wood scoring / notching, paracord and rope cutting.

I voted Sage2... Get the Ti Sage or I'll haunt you after I die.

I vote for the S90V Manix because I wish I could have gotten one. The Sage II looks killer as well though.

I have to give the Ladybug H1 some love.

H1 is great for EDC as you can beat on it and not have to worry about it rusting. I also found that with a small square lanyard, an inch or so, the ladybug fits perfectly in my hand and makes for a very small, very light and capable EDC knife. Seriously, it fits in my change pocket and I don't feel it all day. Love it.

i have both the
Manix 2 (S90V)
Sage II titanium (S30V)
and love both of them, some of my favorites but my zdp 189 carbon caly is getting my pocket time!

i edc'd a h1 knife, because i am a commercial fisherman, and i thought h1 wouldnt rust in those conditions. anyway, i would never edc h1 again because among other things, it dulls extremely fast. if your cutting alot of rope or cardboard, it will drive you crazy keeping it sharp. h1 imo, is a gimmick.
that said if i wasnt a lefty, id be all over the military. they are awesome edc's. BUY ONE :) i know this wasnt on your list, and its a very inexpensive knife, but the tenacious is an amazing edc at the price it sells for.

I voted the Manix 2, but if there were a multiple vote option I would also have chosen the Sage II.

manix s90v. I think it would be good to se a few of these actualy hit the field for a little bit of use:)

Have a Millie, Para, Endura, Delica, Caly3 zdp, Manix 80mm and the Sage II in spyderco. With the great handle design, RIL, and Ti slabs its not really fair to compare the others with the SageII:p I would compare it more to my sebbies than my other spydercos.

Para.

:p

Or go Manix2, it's in my pocket right now. I'll let you choose the steel.

What completely rustless steel holds an edge better?

Thanks for the votes guys, but right now it looks like it's still a close call between the S90V Manix II, Sage II, and Military.

When did they release the Sage II in S90V? :D

i think you just posted a pic of my new must have...sweet looking knife!

joshk, i cant think of another affordable steel that is as rust resistant as h1, but for a edc that will not be used in "corrosive" situations, where the resistant qualities of h1 are truly needed, i personally think a different stainless would be a much better choice, as it will hold an edge better.
thats why i voted military....that is one awesome knife! good luck with what you choose, all the ones you listed are great knives.

Sage gets my vote. Just cool lookin' if anything and would be the one I would inquire about if you were using it in public.

Matador-

My favorite among the listed choices is the Manix 2 in S90V. I actually bought 2 of them, and initially had some strong reservations about spending that much $$ on 'em. But everytime I pick it up and give it just a little more TLC on a strop, it just keeps getting sharper (and it was already WICKED SCARY AMAZING SHARP straight out of the box). The S90V is amazing. That would be my choice. The only catch is you might have a tough time finding one, and consider yourself lucky if you don't end up paying even more than the $180 - $200 'street price' that these initially were going for. The 154CM version of the Manix 2 looks tempting too, although I would prefer it in full flat grind instead of the sabre grind.

I also like the Military, and one that I didn't see in your list of possibles, the Para Military. The full flat grind and premium steels used in these (S30V, CPM-D2, etc.) make them awesome slicers. I think the Para Military would be my second choice if I couldn't find the S90V Manix 2.
