I recently acquired a used protech. Mechanically it's flawless but the blade itself has a lot of surface scratching. The pivot and clip were pretty scratched so I just buffed them out and bronzed them but thats not an option for the blade. I need to preserve the blade coating it's a big reason why I got it. I'm a sucker for FDE/OD green. These scratches DO NOT go through to the bare metal so I'm thinking about using some brasso on a rag OR maybe some finishing polishing buffing compound??? If you have experience with this issue and there is a better way to get these surface scratches out I would REALLY appreciate your feedback!!!

You're not going to get those out without damaging the coating.
Didn't have any tricks or suggestions so I just used some silver polish liquid I had on a cleaning cloth for a good hour by hand so that I wouldn't blitz through the coating to bare metal. You'd still be correct though. I had to remove coating which is technically damaging the finish but it's not noticable. It's a hell of a lot better than the scratches... buffing off the coating enough to remove the scratches without going completely THROUGH the coating is the hard part.
