Help!! need info!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how and what to use if I were to want to darken and coat and care for my leather washer handled knife? I have a SOG scuba/demo, It has a very light colored almost blond leather handle. I would like to darken it and maybe help preserve it a bit as I have only use it a couple of times and the handle is getting a bit fuzzy! the leather does not seem to have the shinny finish that some of my other leather handled knives do. Soak the handle in mineral oil, neetsfeet oil, mink oil and etc. for a few days.
