Hey all,
I'm very new to Busse, so please bear with me on my questions!
I've done some research, changed what I originally thought, and now I'm going to ask you all - the end users - for some suggestions.
Here's the plan:
Right now I carry a few knives on my field gear, usually the following:
1. Emerson Commander
2. Gerber multi-tool
3. Simonich Midtech Raven Combat
So I'm looking at my field gear (I just got off 6 years of USAF Active Duty, going into the Reserves) and wondering how I can make it more comfortable, user-friendly, and shave some weight.
Don't get me wrong, I *love* my Simonich Mid Tech, but there's always that nagging thought in the back of my head that I might lose it during a field exercise. Also - and more importantly - it's a fairly big blade, one that can be difficult to conceal when we have our "Gear Nazi's" out and about (gotta love PC).
So my thought was, to shave space, weight, and add a bit of concealment, I figured I'd go with a smaller blade from another reputable company. I happend upon Mr. Busse's web site, and saw the Active Duty.
I thought: Cool! A smaller blade fitted more towards utility, and has a nice elegance to it. Even did some searches here, and sent an email to the company store to see if there were any hidden in a closet somewhere. The satin/black paper micarta looks awsome!
Damned if I didn't realize that the blade is only 2.5 inches (according to zvis.com). Well, that kinda shoots my idea in the butt. I was looking for something around 3.5-4 inches....small enough to be concealed in an ammo pouch on my tac vest (or close enough), but large enough for damn near anything I can throw at it.
So back to the drawing board again. More searching on zvis.com.
I happen upon the Badger Attack. Looks more like a slightly longer AD. GREAT!
NOT! It's my understanding that they're not made anymore. Damn!
So now, the question: What the hell am I looking for???!!
I'm open to any & all suggestions. Pics would be a definate help.
Thanks
Phil
PS Looking at the Company Store site, do you guys think the Leaner Meaner Street or the Model T Street would work?
As always, open to any & all suggestions.
Thanks
Phil
