Help needed. Can't decide.

As some of you may recollect, I was going to go to Blade show this year. I was going to only buy one knife this year and it was going to be a special CRK from Blade.

After some deliberation, my wife and I agreed that a $2k-3k trip for 3 days would not make good economic sense, especially when we are going on a family vacation 2 weeks later.

Fast forward to now, I am trying to still keep my promise of only one knife this year. At first I was tempted to look at other brands/makers, but found myself still looking at CRK.
Like I said, this was going to be a special knife (think grail). So here is my issue, do I buy one 'grail' knife (mammoth/Damascus, etc...), or two more micarta variants.
My wife already said that she is fine with me buying two 'cheaper' CRK versus one 'grail' knife. I would be picking up a large and small micarta 21 with serrations.
On one hand, I want a beautiful knife that will awe me everyday, but I also want to expand my micarta family.

I can't decide!

Help please...

Serrated Sebenzas are great, and micarta-inlaid Sebenzas are the best. You definitely need them to complete your micarta family.

My serrated Sebenza is my favorite EDC/Emergency/Do-everything folder. It's at CRK right now having dual thumb studs installed so I'm 'settling' for my micarta inlaid 25 :D

Sure about Micarta ?? ;)

Get yourself something special !

Best,
Stefan

You need one for bragging rights, you've got plenty of micartas.
Get the one that is above all others for you.

Buy the knife that you will use, if youll use the mammoth inlay then buy it, no regrets. If it were me, id buy something i dont have already and will get much use out of. But thats just my opinion.

I personally would buy a knife that meant something to me, but that I would also use. The micarta's are great users, but you might also consider a wood inlay, UG or CGG. While I don't take to many of the graphic patterns there are certainly some that I love.

Jon, I'm heartbroken that I won't get to show you around Atlanta with some of our other forum friends but, kudos to you keeping the pact we made this year. I'm holding up strong too!

I suggest you get a grail piece. Your micarta collection is great, no doubt about it, but like Ajack said, you need a grail piece! Mammoth+damascus is a fine choice that many consider their grail CRK. Do it! Maybe consider a Mnandi in mammoth and damascus?

All the best, my friend!

Wait a minute...Dang! You already bought that CF 25 recently didn't you? So much for the "one" huh? Haha! You're killing me with all of these Sebenza 21s/25s. Part of me want's to just say "forget it" and get a plain Jane large Insingo and get something else at BLADE.

Get the Grail. Youve already got enough micarta!

My Grail was a CF inlay and I got it about a week ago......

It's the only thing I carry any more

Haha, nope, I did not buy that one. I believe it was another Jon. I am holding true to my promise (so far).

I thank you all for the responses so far. Please keep them coming as I still have not made up my mind. Pictures are quite welcome.

James, beautiful pictures as always.

My wife would slap me if I wanted any more than 1 sebbie. Id probably slap myself. Now I need to ask her, when can I get it?

Get the grail.
You are covered with micarta pretty good.
My logic tell's me to get the difficult (to get) now and the easier one later.
hope this helps.
