help needed:dating this Schrade 863

Could somebody help me to find out, when this Schrade 863 was made? The tang stamp shows on one side:
Schrade
N.Y. U.S.A.
On the other side the number 863 was stamped
The blade is a full flat grind

Could be any time after the Walden era, so after 1973. Not sure about when they stopped using that stamp, probably in the '80s.

They stopped producing the 863 in 1980, so it must be earlier. I wonder, if the "N.Y."- marking can help dating the knife...?

But is there at date connected to the N.Y. stamp or is it just build in another factory? And when had they changed from flat grind to saber grind or vice versa? Questions over questions......

My understanding is, that was the first stamp after the Schrade Walden stamp, but that very shortly they used the Schrade USA stamp without NY, and that they ran them concurrently for awhile, maybe a decade or so.

Thanks. I knew this one already, it helps to delimit the production period to 1973-1980.
But it seems to be unusual, that they use two tang stamps in the same time period. There must be a reason for this....
