Hi guys,

I'm looking to purchase an ATC Sibert Comanche Hawk, as I understand that there are two versions of this hawk.
One was by FOX and made of N690Co, then there is the new version by Fehrman and made of O1.

The new one is much more appealing to me due to its choice of steel, O1 is just more suited for hawks than any stainless steels.

The tricky part is identifying the O1 from the older version, apparently there is no marking on the hawk and most online retailers can't tell whether the one they have in stock is the new or old as well.

So any input on how to differentiate the new one from the old one would be greatly appreciated.

The trick is to look at the cutouts on the blade. On the Fox hawk, the cutouts are circles. On the Fehrman hawk, the cutout is different, a cross in the middle and a wedge shape on the blade. Look at Fehrman hawk on his site, then google image the fox hawk and you'll see what I mean.

SS1978,

Really appreciate your input on this, I get what you mean there, the cutouts on the are quite different for sure, and the N690 ver seemed to come in two different handle lengths.

but I also ran into another question while looking at the fehrman hawks, apparently some of them come with a hole in the centre spike while others dont, as shown in the pics below.

If you look at the two pics closely, you may notice the hawk in the first pic does not spot any cutout near the top wedge, while the second one have a round cutout, otherwise both look identical, so I would assume they are both Fehrman.

But is this like a new features on the newer production or something?
