Help Needed from experts!

I ask you guys out there to help me to choose my Emerson. I have a small collection of knives mainly Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, SOG, Cold Steel and some others. I never had any experience with Emerson knives. I don’t know much about them, all I’ve heard they good knives, so I decided to add some to my collection. I prefer 3-4 inch blades for EDC. Unfortunately the choices of these knives are limited in Australia but if you could recommend some I would try to hunt them down. Thanks for your help.:o
 
What is actually available to you over there ? It's hard to really reccomend one as they are all a pretty good choice in one way or another.

The knives that are mentioned time and again here are the 7s, 8s, 10, 12 and Commanders. Any of those would make a great choice. All but the 10 and 12 have options like small/regular/super and the 7s also come in a spear point (a) and a tanto point (b).

That's a pretty good pile of choices right there, I'd just spend a bit of time looking at the ones you like the look of to narrow it down a bit.

IMO the CQC-12 and the regular CQC-8 are the best there is on offer. Things like the CQC-10 and CQC-7a are nipping at the heals of those two though.

Or..... you could go for the best EKI of all time and get the Persian;):thumbup:
 
What is your opinion on this folder? I really like the blade shape and the 154CM steel. Would it be a good EDC.

I have one and it is without question one of the most comfortable knives you will find. Great lines, useful blade shape, nice size and a tough as nails Emerson build. IMO, the CQC-10 is a great EDC. :thumbup:
 
i would go for the '12 or HD-7 myself due to them being frame locks, but the '8 is also a classic, heck they are all good, do what lycosa says and get one of each lol.

but as far as productions go, the '12 is the top dog, closely followed (but followed nontheless) by the HD-7, i just dont like the tanto blade on the HD7 as much as the bowie style blade on the '12.
 
I would say go something classical: Some prefer the tanto go with 7's

some prefer the recurve go with commander or mini commander.
 
The 12 and the HD 7 are great knives that are hard to find. If you have the option, I'd acquire one, or both, of them.
