Ok all you outdoor types I need your assistance.
1) I'm looking for a 2 man tent
2) For use during the summer (although it will be used in a mountainous area so lots of rain)
3) Has to be ultra light weight
4) Cost as low as possible
5) Will be used on trips lasting 24 - 48 hours

I hope thats not too tough a task, cheers Deano

You sound like your looking for a 3 season tent. The Eureka Timerline isn't bad - The design has been around for years, and I've spent a LOT of time in one.

It's NOT the lightest out there, but there is a tradeoff between weight, price and durability. That said, it's to real heavy either It's 5lbs 14 Oz (Min weight) - For full sized 2 man tents it had to get below 5 lbs. It works well in the rain (has a dual fly)

Look at REI.COM for it

I'll second the Eureka Timberline recommendation.
If you know it won't rain, you can always leave the fly at home to save weight.

And one with 700+ miles and a good test IMO.

Black Diamond Betamid with the floor for about $150. Use your hiking poles for supports or string it up from trees depending upon terrain. Takes about 2 minutes to set up and weighs under 3 pounds!

Good in rain. 50+ square feet of cover and ultra light.

My son and I use one for our long hikes (20+ miles per day) He has short legs and can't carry more than 17lbs over that distance but he carries the Betamid!

It depends upon your need for bugproof and rainproof though. Without the floor it is under 2.25lbs (1 Kilo or so) and great in temperate weather!

Here's a bunch of tent reviews:

I love my Slickrock from The North Face. Light, compact, and easy to set up. Great ventilation, and zero problems even in heavy rain so far. I've never slept two in it, though, only used it solo. Space is limited, and if two are gonna share this one, they should be on good terms;)
It's not that small, but I keep all of my gear inside the tent, so that kills alot of the extra room. Two people couldn't spread their crap out all over the place like I have a habit of doing...
