Help Needed In Selecting A New Blade ...

I'm considering purchasing a new knife (either a folder or fixed blade) next week, and I would like some help deciding which blade would be the best of the following:
Folders:
Schrade CH18FE Sportmate
Emerson Commander BT
Buck 112FG
Buck 532BL 2000 Special Edition
Cold Steel Scimitar
Camillus 886 (as advertised here at BladeForums.com)

Fixed Blades:
Buck 119BR CocoBola Special
Buck 119

Any thoughts on these blades? Perhaps judging by the blades I have listed, someone can suggest alternatives of similar style that I should look into, if my choices aren't that good.

Also, can someone suggest a knife that is similar in style to my UC Colt AR-15-K Lockback Folder? I really like this particular style, but wouldn't mind a blade of higher quality.

I hope know one minds, but I posted this topic in the Reviews Forum as well, to get as many respones as possible. I made such a grevious error in buying my first blade with very little research ... and with the help of all the fine folks here at BladeForums, I want to avoid making the same mistake again!

Thanks in advance!!

I looked over a couple of your blade choices, and they do seem like decent, affordable blades. I am by no means a knife expert, but I am known to have spent many hours exploring and reading about various knives and manufacturers. [Everyone else on this forum does the exact same thing...

Through my personal experience and readings, I highly recommend Spyderco for the price range in which you are shopping. They are extremely cost effective, well made, and the customer service is great. Another perk is that they have a blade in just about every shape and style ...give them a look!

In my opinion the Commander would be a great choice. It is one of the smoothest production folders I have ever handled and it feels great in your hand. All around a great knife.

Defiant: Thanks for the help! I looked at the Spyderco blades that are available here in town, and I didn't see any that "felt" right for me. Maybe I'll take another look at them since I have the day off today!

Joker 354: Thanks to you as well ... that Commander was the first "BladeForum" knife that I wanted to check out .... so many people here mention it!

M-D,
Spyderco is excellent. I think I have read about a lot of QC problems on the commander. The Buck 119 is a classic. The cocobola looks nice too. You may want to consider CRK&T. I have been around knives for many years and have owned lots. I just got my first CRKT and all the good stuff you read here is true! Good luck.
