Folks,

A gentleman at work had a Buck 119 that has been handed down in his family - see photo below - and well loved.

This knife was recently damaged by an untrained but well meaning individual, and further damaged by someone who tried to repair it.

I am still recovering from the shock.

Is there anyone (mods included) who would like to donate to a worthy cause and provide a replacement that could be used by a needy family before deer season begins locally in October ?

please pm or email me

Let me suggest, you are in the state of WA, the Buck Factory is a short distance away. You can email Buck, go to the website, and even send a picture of the knife. Ask for Joe Houser to look at it and he will likely email you back about repair. They may can meet your deadline.

You are a Gold Member with a decent number of posts, so I as Moderator of this forum, will let your posting stay even though I likely should not because it is likely is incorrect to post such requests in this type of forum. If you are truly helping then, hat off to you.

The 119 in the photo does not show any tang stamping. Has another blade been inserted in a 119 handle ?

For Buck forum regulars, I am leaving this open, but tread lightly until you have communicated with this member to a high assurance level.

To 87Burban, I am not insulting you, it is my volunteer job to watch over things and so you can do your best to earn good Buck credits here, your request is unusual, one reason is it is third party.

Geez thats sad, although the duct tape sheath is funny. If you pay shipping I'll send you a used new 119

Sir,

Tang says

BUCK 119+ U.S.A.

Not a scam by any means. I just thought that this would be the area to go for those who have a heart for a Buck knife like my friend Cliff does.

No intention to break any rules - no bruised reeds broken or smoking flax quenched.

I can certainly close it if deemed necessary.

Thanks for your time.

Great! Houston, we have lift off!
Yours is a 1991 model 119. Not anything special. I still find them at gun shows. It does have a blade of 425M steel which is a step up from other steels. A new sheath and knife with full blade will look sooo much better. I know we have great gents here. DM

Like I said part of my duties is to make sure folks are who they say they are.

I still say try Buck Knives, Joe Houser, you may be surprised how nice they can be. They value family and history.

Roger that. I will try and make a call to Mr. Houser.

Just felt really bad for my buddy, and thought to ask for help on the forum.
