Help needed to identify a Colt fixed blade knife

I bought this knife a while back from an older man who said he had it for years. Even with Google searching I have found it challenging to find out the model number (if there is one) and what what decade it may have been produced. The blade is about 4.5 inches long and the handle is about 4 inches. The knife, with the sheath, weighs one pound.
There were sheath storage marks on the blade which I tried to buff out (hence the shine).
I appreciate any thoughts as to when this may been made.
Thanks very much.

Contact SMKW and send them the photos. SMKW had the Colt Cutlery license for a while.
If it was made during their tenure, they may be able to tell you when it was made.

I don't see a "Made In ____" stamp or etch. Was there a "Made In ___" etch before you buffed the blade?

Edit to add:
I don't know if SMKW has an online collection of their old catalogs. If they do, you can go through them, to see if you can find it. Chances are, even if SMKW did not have it made, they are more than likely among those who sold it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I hadn’t thought of that.
Unfortunately no etching was on the blade.

The pic below, from Frost Cutlery's own site, appears identical to your knife, save for the etch. In the lower left corner of the image (as seen on the vendor's site), there's a 'CT-805' notation. Same reference in the linked filename of the image itself, as well. I'd assume that's the model #. The Frost listing names it as 'COLD STAG BOWIE', also seen in the notation on the photo at the vendor site.

I think most or all of the Colt-branded knives in the last decade or two have been manufactured and imported from China or elsewhere in Asia.
