Help needed with my Super CQC7.

Hello, I recently purchased a Super CQC7 and I am having a problem with it. When I received the knife its opening was a bit gritty so I disassembled the knife and cleaned and lubed it with CLP. Upon reassembly I noticed that the edge and tip of the blade now want to slide across the locking liner whenever it is opened or closed.
I found a thread on this forum http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=814093 that addresses blade centering and I think that this may be my answer but before I go on with something that will change the position of the secondary detent on the non locking side I wanted to get some more advice and opinions.
I like this knife design but I need to get this issue worked out so that I can feel comfortable carrying it. Thank you to everyone who helps me get this worked out.

Just an FYI the washers used on Emersons don't need lube added, just clean them off and they'll be silky smooth in no time. Also have to be careful not to get lube on the lockbar's face. Also don't forget that EKI has great customer service, so if you decide to send it in for any reason, it'll be a breeze.

I'm not quite sure which liner your blade is rubbing, but the steps in the other thread should help regardless. Remember that your pivot tension can have a lot to do with an uncentered blade, if your pivot is loose your locking liner is pushing it towards the other liner and the only thing pushing back is the secondary detent that is much smaller than the lockbar, if that makes sense.

Thank you for your response EricV, and sorry that it took so long for me to get back to this thread.

My blade is being pushed against the lock bar side liner by the secondary detent when the knife is opened or closed. I did not notice this as a problem before I cleaned off the grease that shipped on it. I was primarily wondering what about my cleaning and reassembly might have caused my blade problem so as to exhaust any options before using the cardboard centering technique to change the position of the secondary detent.

Out of curiosity in your experience do Emerson knives usually ship with grease on the pivot and washers?

I would first try dissassembling and reassembling, then try the cardboard.

The Emerson's I have experience with shipped with a light oil around the pivot if I remember right.

Good luck with it! You can usually get it perfectly centered after a some wiggling. If not your detent might be a bit overly bent, you can try to LIGHTLY press it in towards its liner once you have dissassembled it. I would give Emerson a call if its a usability problem, see what they say. And don't do anything you feel uncomfortable with, I'm not trying to advocate messing with the detent too much since it is a safety feature. They're might be some crud jammed behind it, forcing it to push the blade over. Worth taking a look at though.

Thanks for the link GenKraid. Both that method and the one that I read about earlier appear to be almost identical. Its good to see the same type of method referenced by multiple people. Once I end up with some free time I am going to have to give centering this blade a try. :)

It worked on my 2010 commander took like a day , and a night of opening , and closing the blade now she's silky smooth with no centering issues, or sticky linerlock. I also scraped the superglue off of the threads of the screws.

Today I tried every variation of the blade centering technique that was mentioned on this forum and I had zero success. I am starting to wonder if I just need to get thicker washers. Do any of you know if someplace sells washers like Emerson use in different thicknesses?

I vote that you should give the good folks at Emerson a call.

I've never seen different nylatron washers sold, just different diameter, pb and nylon washers both are usually slightly different thicknesses, but that kind of work is entering the serious pain in the neck territory.
