Please forgive me for posting in the wrong forum...:footinmou

I need some information about knife laws in other countries and more info on US federal law. I need to write a 10 page paper pro/con paper on whether or not the knife laws in the US are too restrictive. Naturally, I need info on both sides of the argument. Internet sources are great, but I really need printed articles for sources.

Thanks in advance!

make sure to include information on how the laws on switchblades should not even exist. The law was created fifty years ago AGAINST the viewings of three of the houses of government, or something like that. Even the president of that time thought that a law banning switchblades was a joke. Blade magazine had a three part entry on the subject, you can probably find something off their website.

Yea, yea...:p

I'm smart, but that doesn't mean I can't ask for help! :p

OK, with your incessant asking, you're not really going to get anything from the forumites. It's incredibly hard to find in print articles about knife laws, since:

1. they're rare
2. it's hard to search for (at least efficiently) printed articles

I recently did a similar essay, and ended up having to use mostly electronic sources. I did, however, use my school's Lexis-Nexis account to find some other sources, like laws. There are many such electronic databases available, and they are easily accessible if you have access to a university's library.

Online searches via google with most likely not turn up much besides Bernard Levine's stuff and isolated crime reports.

edited to add:

When's the paper due anyway? You seem pretty desperate. With these sorts of research papers, you really shouldn't procrastinate too much. :) I should listen to my own advice.

The draft is due tommorrow...:(

Change of plans...I can't find sh!t on international laws, so I'll compare state laws. I can find plenty of laws for various states, but I still need print articles...:(

Judge Lowell Bray has a monthly column in Blade magazine called "your knife rights" that deals with legal issues concerning cutlery.
This might give you some information on US federal law that may be useful to you.
