Hello,
I'm looking for a new EDC fixed blade and could use some thoughts from opinions form those that own any of these blades.
I think I've narrowed it down to four different makers / models. This knife will be for EDC general purpose tasks with the remote possibility of self-defense use.

1) Bawidamann Munnin spearoint stonewashed CPM S35VN / carbon fiber 6.875 inches with a three-inch main cutting edge - I really like the idea of the spearpoint on this knife. It would work well in the forward or reverse grip (ice pick or saber grip). A big plus is that this is a small lightweight knife.
2) Dauntless Manufacturing Matt Helm designed Dogbone AEB-L stainless steel/natural canvas micarta7.10 inches with a three-inch cutting edge - I'm really attracted to this knife because of the three available sheath systems that the maker offers. There's a kydex vertical belt sheath, kydex deep carry IWB sheath, and a leather horizontal sheath made by Chattanooga Leather Works. I also like the texturing / jimping on this knife as well.
3) Complaince Edge Henchman stonewashed CMP3V / Black G10 7.55 inches with a 3.3 inch cutting edge - To me this knife just screams of quality, kind of a one knife do all solution.
4) Stroup Bravo 5 with 1095 High Carbon Steel / black G10 7.75 inches with a 3.5 inch cutting edge - I have to admit that I like the shape and blade geometry of of this knife to include the shape of the grip.

Thanks for any help or advice you all can give me.

You've certainly narrowed your list down to some less-than-mainstream choices.

I have no experience with any on your short list, except the Henchman. It is one of the few knives I regret selling a couple years ago. The ergonomics were good, even though I am generally not a fan of one-size-fits-all finger grooves. The 3V steel was exceptional, and cut for miles without any touchups required. They obviously have their heat treatment dialed in on this one.

Good luck with your search.

Right now, I'm really leaning towards the Bawidamann Munnin spearoint due to it being the smallest knife of the forur.
Anyone else have in any thoughts?

I just picked up the DCK from henchman. Great knife. Not really set up for edc, moreso a self defense knife and depending on where you live could raise a few eyebrows. No finger grooves, great balance. Im gonna snag a henchman tonight and decide whats Im keeping and selling

I like the Stroup. I prefer having a bit of material at the back of the handle to help get a good grip and proper orientation when drawing the knife. I think it helps in compromised positions or if I have something slippery on my hands, especially if I cannot see the blade.

Like Shane said, it's nice seeing some off brand names..... I'll have some research to do. I'm only familiar with Matt Helm's designs..... Almost bought one.

But it wAs because of the novelty of his choice of plastic material, for scales....
The knife, Idk how it would feel in my hand? Didn't seem like it would work, idk?

After looking at them all......
#1 or #2

#3 too thick?
#4 No Way.....and why does wooden scales Double the cost of an already expensive knife???

Well, I wound up picking up two of the knives I talked about.
1) Bawidamann Munnin dagger stonewashed CPM S35VN / carbon fiber 6.875 inches with a three-inch main cutting edge and like 1.5-inch sharpened top swedge.
2) Compliance Edge Henchman Blackout CMP3V / Black G10 7.55 inches with a 3.3 inch cutting edge.
I was thinking about doing a review on these two blades.
What do you all think?

They’re all great, but I prefer the Bravo 5 and the Henchman. I own 3 of the 4 you mentioned , don’t own the Dogbone, but have handled it. The Munnin is great too, mine has the acid etched patina which is beautiful, but I prefer the Henchman, as they are the most similar of the four you’ve mentioned. If looks is a factor, the Bravo 5 is drop dead gorgeous, very primal, but the grip is definiely for smaller hands and the blade profile is more suited for self defense than general EDC tasks. The Henchman is not flashy, but it is a great general EDC knife that can be pressed into service for most tasks. Wish I had a pic of the Munnin, but it’s in my kit bag at work 4FF75697-5B40-4CFF-8AEF-63B9D8F54F9B.jpeg

Downriverfirepower - Thanks so much for posting that pic!
I hadn't realized the B5 's grip was that small.
I guess that's part of the problem in buying some of these knives without actually seeing them first.
I'm pretty well sold on the Compliance Edge Henchman, as its grip just disappears in my hand.
The next Friday drop that he offers a stonewashed / black G10 model for $195 I hope to pick one up.

No problem! I love Compliance Edge. I own everything but the V3. Check out the DCK as well.

If you go on there when they drop, you won’t have a problem picking up a Henchman. Happy hunting!
