i haven’t seen this knife mentioned on the forums very much but I wanted to mention it and ask a question. The knife is an asus it’s by stat gear. This knife comes in brown and Black micarta has d2 steel a ball bearing pivot and an extremely deep carry pocket clip left or right tip down (I know that is the downside of it). Other downside is a weak detent it can be shaken open but so can a benchmade so meh. I just opened the box an hour ago and I am in love. It is as smooth if not smoother than my kizer t1 zero lock stick and dead centered with a vault lock up. They are sold for $50 I got a deal on mine and it was $35. However at the going price it is a steal truly blown away.

Now for the question the micarta is rougher than a polished and probably rougher than most other folders. However it’s still not the feel of Esee micarta that I love. What sandpaper grit can be used to give it that Esse feel I’m looking for?

The grits I use are 60, 120, 240 and for the finest 400 I never go full polished on handles. It's always risky trying to find the right grit to match but you can be sure if you start with 400 it will be likely be finer than you need then you can move to coarser grit if you need to till you are where you want it. 400 will smooth it down a little and may just do it.

Awesome thank you so much this progressiom is exactly what I was looking for as a guideline.
