Can someone explain what a blade stamp BUCK MADE IN U.S.A means?
The book says that some knives were marketed in canada and marked that way but how do you tell when or Y, anybody?
were they made in the us for canada or what?

The BUCK/MADE IN/U.S.A. stamp can be found on all Schrade and early Camillus made Buck contract 300 series pocket knives. The manufacturing time frame for this stamp would run from about 1966 through about 1972. The later Camillus made 300 series knives began to have the model number added to the reverse tang sometime in 1971 (approximately). Later, Camillus changed the stamp on these 300 series knives to match Buck's own offerings: BUCK/MODEL #/U.S.A. See my 300 series article in the archived BCCI newsletters for a more thorough explanation of the 300 series knives. Perhaps someone can provide the date of the issue as I am unable to do so right now.

it is MY understanding that it was done to meet the requirements of
Canada import and country of orgeon laws..
the Fixed blades and 110's were marked
with usa starting in late 67 or early 68.
i beive the 68 catalog shows the USA stamp
some with one may come along and correct me ...
i really dont keep details like that in my head
as it leaks data some times...
mostly i keep it in my _____:eek:

It's just like China has to put "China" on their knives in order to export them.

Laws.

BG again that makes sense in the simplest fashion, I like that , KISS (keep it simple stuped)
