Can anyone provide me with info on cell phone signal jammer ? I'm in the market for one, and am simply looking for the best one. I do need a portable jammer though, so I can carry it around.

Googlefoo is your friend, however I would strongly advise against it, although I have been tempted before. What if your jammer in a theater or restaurant keeps a Doctor from getting a call that would have saved a life? How about one of your family members being in a wreck and only having an hour to live?

Annoying as cell phones are in the places above, you could be sorry for your jammer the rest of your life.

I believe that is why they are illegal.

Just my .02,
Jim

Whats your basis for saying that they are illegal?

You can google it or go to the FCC website but the general gist is...

In the U.S. the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) makes certain frequencies available to broadcasters for public use. When an end-user pays to use that spectrum, jamming the signal is paramount to 'property theft.' The FCC is also concerned about potential "leakage" — of jammers interfering with frequencies outside the range of cell phones, like garage door openers or medical equipment; and it's worth noting that over 100,000 emergency calls are made each day from cell phones. Anyone caught manufacturing, selling, owning, or using a jammer in the U.S. is punishable by an $11,000 fine and up to a year in prison for each offense.

Thanks, I had read that, but forgotten where.

I admit, there are lots of times when you want to end a jerks call or text short, but the one time it stops an important call made by someone in a life or death situation...you get the idea.

It is illegal per the FCC, federal crime.
