help on this mini hatchet

Looking for input on this mini- hatchet I picked up at gun show this weekend. For size reference, that is an 8.5” x 11” paper it is sitting on, and it weighs 9 oz. The sheath and head have “US” stamped on them, but I am not sure that this is government issued. Any input is appreciated. --- Thanks, David in NY

Agreed. Both the head and handle match the older Vaughan makes.
