thanks for the clarification. i kinda figured as much but wasnt sure. a bit off my original post how can i go about getting legal advise for such minor inquiries?
Fortunately for us here in California, our state knife laws are pretty simple and straightforward. If you haven't already, I would advise you to familiarize yourself with our state laws by using an official California legislative website like this-
http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes.xhtml . Another suggestion is to hire a local criminal defense attorney, they often work by the hour, some cheaper than others. Of course, lawyers are only human, and even they can make mistakes.
Unfortunately, there are many people on the internet, and some web sights, that will give you inaccurate information on California's knife laws. And if you don't know the law for yourself, you might not know if the information they give you is accurate or not.
So the bottom line is, when it comes to interpreting the law, there is no guaranteed source of accurate information. You just have to decide for yourself who you are are willing to trust, and how much you are willing to gamble on that trust.
However, when it comes to this forum and the subject of knife laws, I consider Glistam to be a reliable source of information. He is someone I would trust.
