horizontal model band saw gear box with plastic spacers
needing parts or a gear box for this unit

I have this unit and the gear box evidently was low on oil when I got it used,
it never looked wet around the seals so I believed it was good to go.
NOT.. after some time of use it got hot and melted the preset/spacers
the tag on the machine don't seem to be currant, the phone number is no longer good.

it's either sold by or made by..

does anyone know of parts or a gear box for this unit?

hi dan, my problem is probably a little more severe than yours.you might be able to make some spacers out of pvc pipe, reckon?my whole gearbox is out,so i'm checking hf for parts right now.wish you luck,bud....p.s. this being without a saw really sucks don't it?

sure does :(

these have keys built in
I can make them but would rather buy them they cause the preload on the bearings too.. so they have to be just right..
and my Motor is no go on my lathe right now too :grumpy:

Dan, pardon my ignorance, but is this saw the same sold by grizzly& harbor freight? They I was able to get parts for mine from HF. Don't know if this helps....See Tom's post for the link to HF.

hey dan, call jason macgruder at 719-210-1579.his gear box might be what you need.wouldn;t work on mine.good luck.

thanks Tom
I just got off the phone with him
the out put shaft is wrong

I need 5/8" in and 7/8" out

I can deal with the input shaft if it were the only problem..
but the out put has to be 7/8"

thanks
