Help picking a knife

Ok I plan on purchasing a knife fairly soon, but there is one problem. I can't decide which one I want. First off I know it is going to be a tanto, since they are my fav . I have narrowed down my list to about 3 knives:

1) 940 Osborne because I love the smoothness upon opening the knife and Axis lock is my favoroit type of locking mech.

2) 910 Stryker. Between the 910 BT and the 910HS is there much difference? I know the HS is made with M2 Steel so it has a high impact strenght, High abrasion and wear resistance and increased edge holding with the down side of it being more corrision suseptible (spelling?). But does it actually add that much more compared to the 910BT, or is all of the above more along the lines of fancy words?

and lastly

3) Cold Steel's Recon 1. Right now this one is my fav, and I will probably end up getting this one. Does anyone already own this one and if so how have you liked it? If you haven't owned this one do you have any opinions about it?

The 940 has a modified reverse tanto, its just a tanto with the reverse side sharpened instead, with a little belly. Maybe they make a reg tanto?
I own the CS recon-1 tanto and think it's a great knife. Very smooth, centered blade, no play ect....Also a decent size with a 4 inch blade. The lock is almost the same thing as the axis, except plastic like. The spyderco Bob Lum c46 is nice also, just a little too tight on the opening for me. But it's one of my favorite tantos.

I think the any variation of the 910 will do you good. Personally speaking though I'd say I'd go with the M2. Edge retention is something else on this steel. At least thats my exprience with my mini AFCK.

If you're considering tantos though I'd also look at the axis lock 722 from BM. I have this one also and it is fast becoming my preferred tanto of all the ones that I have or have used.

I'd definitely go with the 910 in the M2 steel...a real workhorse that grows on you the more you use it. If you like a little larger, more heavy duty folder, try to snag a MT full-sized SOCOM with the tanto blade config.. You won't be sorry. Can't comment on Cold Steel - I don't buy'em.

I carry a Microtech SoCom Elite auto with Tanto blade every day. before that I carried a manual SoCom with Tanto blade for years. They have served me well in all my daily duties as a Deputy Sheriff in South Florida. I never go anywhere without it and usually one or two other knives.

If tantos are your thing, I would follow BOK's advice and take a look at the BM 722. It has the same blade profile as the near-legendary 970 CQC7 and it's sharpened on both sides as well for more overall cutting usefulness. (Axis lock as well )

You also might want to take a look at the excellent Cold Steel "Gunsite" tanto, as it's one of MY favorites in a folding tanto.

So how does the 910 with the M2 steel compare with the CS Recon 1 or the CS "Gunsite" tanto.

I have looked at the 722 before, actually it was the one I was going to buy...then I was introduced to more options and now even more options. So I will take a closer look at it thanks .

I also did like the Bom Lum and I wouldn't mind getting it, however a co-worker already owns it and I don't to be a matching pair :barf: .

But eventually I probably will get the Bob Lum too heh.

Is the Microtech SoCom Elite auto an automatic knife? cause if it is I can't care that...I pretty sure it is illegal.

As for the 970 CQC7 I dunno if I can care that either, I heard from someone...can't remember who it might not have been very reliable, but I think those are prohibited???
