Help Pimp My Ti Millie

I want to hook my ti Millie up with a G-10 scale on the non-locking side, but I'm having a dilemma about how to do it. I have pretty much two options and neither is a clear winner.

Option 1 - I have a CE Millie that I've fallen out of love with in favor of full PE or SE knives. The knife is in good shape, but there are a couple small nicks in the blade and one of the scallops is warped. Because of this small damage, I don't think I cold get nearly what I would want for it on the second-hand market. So, option 1 is to use the scale from this knife.
Pros - I already have it. It has a steel liner
Cons - Black is kinda boring. The rest of the knife is pretty much worthless. Maybe won't fit correctly?

Option 2 - I could contact a custom maker and have a scale fabricated. I like the ones with the multi-color G-10 when they have a corrugated finish.

Pros - Custom fit, and any color(s) I want.
Cons - Price (what is the ballpark for this kind of work? I know no one wants to quote what they paid, but is it more like $50, or $100 or what?) Lack of steel liner.

So, BF forumites, please guide me with your wisdom. I know at least one of you has a custom scale on your ti Millie. It is red/black and corrugated and beautiful.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, and before someone says it, i AM waiting for the KW M4 Millie. I want a ti/g-10 millie that can better survive a hot sweaty day in a pocket too.

I had my scales made by trix2004 on these forums and had the knife drilled for tip up for $65 total, IIRC. I say go for this route.

Alex, I assume your scale has no liner. Have you had any problems with that?

No liner, but G10 is rigid and strong enough that you don't really need a liner, IMO. That;s just in my use though. I find that the back spacer helps keep the G10 from bending and breaking so it's all good for me.

Ok, so aftermarket scale it is. Sounds like a better idea, and I can probably sell my old Millie for what the work costs.

I'm still open to suggestions of customizers.

Thanks guys.

I'd shoot and email to Phil Dobson here on BF. He does beautiful work with natural and synthetic materials and I'm sure he can make a scale for your millie.
