Help please, just shelled out and can"t switch my membership to gold

Hello im new to this forum.This is probably a weekly post, but ive been trying for a while and cant solve this. FAQ says go under settings(top right) and then permissions groups. I do not see any heading: permissions groups. Someone school a newb please. Bring it on!:confused::confused::confused:
 
Hello me its me again...

This is driving me mental (more so). Every thread ive seen on this subject says the same thing as does the sticky thread by Spark. "Click on Settings (top right) -> Permissions Groups and update your group display".

After I click on settings there is neither the word groups nor permissions anywhere on the entire page. I realize that I may have to wait for my payment to process and hopefully that will make a difference.

Turning off the computer now before I get any more frustrated. Time to select a knife in need of a tune-up and relax!
 
Once your payment is processed and applied by Spark, you will be able to upgrade to the User Group you've paid for.

It sounds like you already know to click on Settings at the top right of any BF page to get to My Settings; the link you need will appear here on the list:

Clicking on above link (once available to you!) results in a page with your upgraded membership level as an option. Click the radio button for that option, "Identify me as a member of this group," and then the "Update Display Group" button.

Noting that your location is in Canada: unless something has changed recently, international orders can only be processed manually by Spark, even if paid for by credit card. The wait time has typically been 1-4 weeks, though sometimes fortuitously less.

I have been renewing my membership for years. It can happen instantly (seemingly) or it can take a little while for the transaction to hit, and then you can update.

Don't let it drive you crazy!
 
Its really cool that you immedentally purchased a gold membership when you joined. Thanks for supporting a site you just became part of!
 
I've always had a love if knives. (Wasn't much of a computer guy other than downloading free movies)
It's really cool to find a group like this! Hopefully I hear back on my membership and then I can activate it. I've got some awesome blades to share.

spark needs to make the change first. you're still not able to send pm's yet. when you put your mouse pointer over your name and see "private message" then you're good to go :D
 
This has been an issue with me as well. Evidently there is no notification when your subscription expires. I updated, and not knowing the secret ways here, was quite frustrated when a week went by, and my paid status was not updated. I sent several emails, and never got a reply.
Just happened to see this post, and used the info to fix the problem. Bad communication, if you ask me.
 
Those emails went down a black hole. Posting queries here in Tech Support will at least get the moderators attention.
