Hello all!

First off, I'd like to say that I agree with what you're thinking. Threads like this don't make any sense, but they were cheap and I wont care if they aren't good. I bought these knives because I was taking a chance in the quality department. :D

BUT ANYWAYS!!!

I have come to the conclusion that modern knives look the same. I decided to buy a bunch of traditionals at a flea market to start myself out.
I picked through the bunch of beat-up, abused, gap-filled china trash and found a few "diamonds" (I HOPE).
I found some Schrade knives that didn't say china on them.
So, here's my question:

Are they good? I am new to traditional knives other than owning 3 of them prior to this.
They didn't cost me much, so if they aren't good, come right out and say it please :D.
The knife with the fish on it is flawless. There are no gaps, and hardly any bladeplay. The blade is also perfectly centered. If any of them, I am more interested in what that one is.
If you know the names of any of them, that would also be nice. :)
OH! And the knife with the brown handles on the bottom is a Camillus knife. Seems quite old.
Disregard the Kershaw DWO
NO, I AM NOT ASKING THE PRICES OR WHAT THEY ARE WORTH WHATSOEVER. THE THIRD AND FOURTH PICTURES DOWN FROM THE TOP ARE THE SAME KNIFE.

You did very good. Schrade and Buck made excellent knives.
Case Slimline Trapper, Case Russlock. I believe the locking Schrade knife was part of their wildlife/scrimshaw series. I believe it is 10+ years old.

That Schrade with the fish is a single blade trapper pattern like the Schrade Old Timer 194OT except with the scrimmed handle covers and Schrade stainless steel blades. It is a very nice knife but not very expensive while they were in production here in the states. You have some fine examples in your haul there; you done good, my friend. If you send that Buck stockman back to them, they will replace the lost shield for you.

The top left knife is a Schrade stockman pattern. The top middle knife is a Buck 303 stockman. The top right knife is a Schrade 503 trapper.

The center left knife is a Case Russlock. I don't know what Kershaw calls the other knife on that row.

The bottom left knife is a "congress" pattern although I don't know the maker. The bottom right is a Case slimline trapper with yellow delrin covers. It may have either their excellent CV (chrome-vanadium) steel or their okay "Tru-sharp" stainless.

Hope this helps a bit.

Man, I wish I could find traditionals that nice at MY flea market. :D You did really well on all of those.

Thank you for all of the help, but the white handled stockman is also a US Schrade. The Buck Stockman has the shield :D
Camillus on the congress

I'd say you did quite well if you got away under $150. How are the blades on that Camillus Congress?

I'll take the stock knives and the slimline trapper... oh, wait... you forgot to post prices... er uhh... for a second I thought this was a for sale thread. :p ...just kidding. You did very well.

Ya' done good, Kid. Even the Kershaw is probably a fine knife, and plenty traditional (minus the serrations in my opinion). You didn't just step into traditional land, you leapt headfirst. Good onya'!

It was more between $150-200........:o
The blades are good. No chips or anything. It is very VERY dirty though. Neglected even. Not rusted shut or gritty though. I hope to be able to clean it up.

Well, that's still not bad. You have a lot of good knives there. Congratulations.

Camillus on the congress

I guess I just didn't get a good look at the Buck as it still looks to me like the shield has fallen out, but I'll certainly take your word for the fact that it is there. The Camillus congress is really sweet. The white Schrade stockman looks like it should have been scrimmed like the trapper, but a nice one regardless.

And, again, you have a very nice group of knives there. Congratulations on finding those gems in what is usually a well plowed field (flea markets).

This definitely somthing to be proud of, especially if you sifted through a few dozen junkers. You did find some good treasure in the pile. Congrats and I hope they each get some pocket time, you can come to learn a bit about each knife, and possibly report back with some thoughts after you've used them a bit. Way to go new guy! ;)

Nice haul! Like the Russlock....

Welcome to the Darkside!

Sweet Schrades, sweet Case (not a fan of the locking line but I love the other one), and SWEET Camillius. If the Camillius isn't busted I would say good find. I wish I could go out on any given sunday and get these finds. I can only seem to find half broken Case knives for $20 or more . If I didn't have the Uncle Henry, I would probably carry the Schrade stockman too.

Post more pics when you clean them up,
Connor
