Recommendation? Help Please! St. Louis area

I'm getting into blacksmithing and need help finding places to get materials, i.e. steel, handle material, tools, and everything else. Any sort of help on this would be great. I live in the St. Louis area and would like to get what I can locally.

This is probably the wrong forum to ask in. You might ask a moderator to move it to the proper forum.

Nonetheless, Blade Magazine has a ton of information every month regarding blacksmithing. It is full of ads for equipment. I'd start there and look for places within a days drive of you for equipment. Call a few places and see what they have in stock. It might make for an interesting visit.
 
I don't have the inside track on any of the materials you mention, but I'm in the St. Louis metro area and just wanted to say howdy neighbor. Good luck with your blacksmithing!
 
Mmmm... I knew a blacksmith in St. Louis who made something for me. I don't think he is still in business. But, if he responds to you, you might be able to get info from him or maybe even buy some of his forging materials.

Welcome! You might want to run over to GP Knives (in Troy Illinois- not far) and they could probably put you in touch with some of the local knifemakers, at least one of whom was a champion on Forged in Fire not too long ago. They're good people and very helpful.
