HELP! PM2 comp lock malfunction

So I got a LNIB PM2 from a forum member a little while ago and I just can't seem to understand why the comp lock isn't working. The problem is when i compress the tab (all the way, with a lot of force) the blade doesn't close. I have to exert force with a wrist flick to close the knife or use two hands. I can see that the little detent ball on the lever is hitting the blade at all times. I've opened and closed the knife hundreds of times thinking that i just had to break it in, but this didn't work. Also opened it up to inspect, but couldn't find any obvious flaws. I have a yojimbo 2 with the comp lock and the action is so smooth, i'm really upset with my PM2 though. What can i do to fix it??
 
have you checked for debris, dirt or whatever between the locking tab and the g10 scale ? anything that could force the ball against the tang when you unlock?
 
There's no debris as I have not carried the knife much. I don't know if I just got a bad knife or if it is repairable.
 
Before you do something you'll regret, stop. Put it in a box, and make use of their great warranty service. Good luck man.
 
Make sure its clean, and try lightly lubricating the lock tab's detent ball.
If there is a real problem with the knife that was there before disassembly spyderco will still take care of you.
