Hello all. New to the forum here in search of some assistance

I have an inexpensive knife I use on a daily basis as a beater. it is a sanrenmu style knife that has a pocket clip similar to a sebenza with one screw. This clip seems to have a lot of side to side play and im looking to eliminate that as best as possible without the use of a welder as I don't have access to one. I was wondering what anyone thought of possibly putting jb weld under the clip before screwing it back in and maybe a little underneath it? Or possibly using steel epoxy putty underneath the clip where it meets the body? any help would be appreciated

You can't eliminate play by tightening the clip screws?

Even with the screw tightened all the way up it eventually still ends up with some play. It is not an expensive knife so I'm willing to try any remedy. Worst case I just trim off whatever remnants that don't work with my trusty dremel. Any ideas?

I'd think a piece of firm rubber or flexible plastic under the clip, like gasket material, with a hole punched through it for the screw, might be enough to snug it up. Might be able to use a piece of leather in a similar manner. Either could be cut to shape, to match the outline of the upper portion of the clip, or the recess under it (if applicable).

UPDATE: just an fyi for anyone who may come across this issue and isn't afraid to mod their knife. I took the pocket clip off and used a dremel 4000 to rough up the surface underneath. then used a q tip to slowly force some wd40 into the threads of the screw hole. I then applied some jb weld to the area that the clip touches the body around the screw hole, replaced the screw and clamped it with an Irwin clamp. After waiting 24 hours I am happy to report that this clip is rock solid. I removed the screw without issue and replaced it after applying some blue Loctite. I was hesitant as many jb weld users have reported varying results, some of those with negative reports. I believe if the area is cleaned properly and scratched up for a better purchase between the areas you are trying to mate you will have a positive experience !!!!
