Hi guys, I'm hoping you and your collective wealth of knowledge can help me figure out what this knife might be worth. The prices I see are all over the place, and I honestly don't know how certain conditions might affect the overall value of a piece such as this, as lots of the ones I see are in like new "collectors grade" condition. Basically I just want to know what exactly I've got here.
Here's what I do know...
It's a Lile Sly II (no dot)
The handle is unwrapped, and shows some minor oxidation? where I believe someone must have used tape to secure the beginnings of a paracord wrap a long time ago. I assume this could be cleaned off, but am not 100% sure.
The blade itself seems to be in excellent condition, no significant marks, though it does look like its been cleaned a few times in its lifetime.
The compass looks to resemble the compasses that came with the earlier Lile rambo knives, (white and black face... most of the ones I've seen with the Sly 2's have a green and black face). I don't know if some Sly II's had these compasses, or if it was a later addition... perhaps someone here knows.
The sheath is original and despite some wear, seems to be in great condition. Comes with the original Diamond sharpener, as well as what I believe are the original leather cords to tie the knife down.
Any input you folks have, whether in terms of value, originality, it's condition, would be greatly appreciated. I've been into custom knives for a long time, but I am not too familiar with the old school "greats", so this is sort of new territory for me.
