Help rebending Kydex

I could use some advice on how and if I can reheat an existing Kydex sheath to accept a larger handle. I purchased a CABS LE with a Kydex(maker unknown) sheath that fit well with retention based on the handle. I have since had new scales put on the blade increasing the width of the handle by .50 or 1/2" . My question is can I reshape the existing sheath to accept the large handle and if so what is the best method? I can buy a heat gun or I have an electric skillet. I assume the heat gun would be better or am I better off just have another custom made. If I have a custom made I am looking to change to a leather sheath and sell this one if possible. Any input is appreciated.

You can warm it up with a heat gun but if you want to send it in to the shop I'll take care of it for ya. The electric skillet is a "no-go" and will completely flatten your Kydex. Is this the knife with the new custom Orange slabs you posted the other day?

Godspeed - Yes it is the one with the orange handles. I am torn as I want to add a pouch and this blade is not big enough to add one to the sheath and make it comfortable to carry. This is why I was considering leather. I may just see if I can get the old kydex to work and add a firesteel loop and be done with it. If I do then I want to try a rotating teck lock that TOPS uses as I have not found the normal tek lock to provide enough options on a belt and with a backpack on.

I make a drop loop (with no loop) that works with the Tek-Lok so it's out of the way for backpack use:

I also make a dangler that works the same way... but I can make this work off of a Tek-Lok too:

So with either of the above options the Tek-Lok becomes very "usable"... I haven't seen what TOPS does with theirs?

As soon as I saw your Orange Beauty I though of a sheath I made for Core Knife Co.s "Stubby"... I made a two-tone sheath to match the liners, scales etc.:

His knives aren't "finished" when I get them and get final polishing, sanding etc "Spa Treatment" when they get back to his shop.

With the pouch it really depends on what gear you want to carry and how bad you want to carry it, and there's always the option of one of my Pouch-Sheaths piggy-backed to the larger knife with a little knife in it:

Hope this helps;)
