Help Removing Gun Blue

I was given an old-style Gerber dagger that has been cold-blued by the guy that gave it to me.

Is there any chemical I could use to remove the bluing so that I don't have to use steel wool and mar the original blade finish?

I know the exsist. Call a gunsmith up and ask him for some brand names.

Birchwood casey makes rust and blue remover also,it is usually available in most gun stores or Wal-Mart.Naval jelly also works great.

Tiddy Bowl toilet bowl cleaner will remove gun bluing.After
removing the bluing rinse in Baking Soda and water solution.
