I modified those two, using a vintage Climber (pre 1991) and a Camper (just for the saw). Feel free to contact me :)

Thats nice, i have a couple of SAK, but wanted to go ALOX, this time, i dont have any, the closest thing to what im after is a farmer, but i would like the combo bottle/can opener, rather then the other two & scissors, philips, and maybe the nail file. i just have no clue how to do any of it, nor what fits. JR

Yet, do you use the corkscrew, or awl? or would something else be better in place? i so dont understand why a corkscrew is on 75% of there knives? JR

Because one of the official languages of Switzerland is French, and wine is to them - what water is to me.

I use the awl quite a lot to drill holes in wood. I agree the crokscrew is a waste in a wood/backpacking environment. Around the house, though, the corkscrew is THE tool :D

Agree with most of that.........I'd like to replace the awl with the hook so I can have an easy pot lifter, and I'd really like to replace the small blade with a phillips screw driver. Hence why I haven't done any mods yet.
For my uses the ultimate SAK would be my camper with Stay Glow handles (i would like to have the needle and ink pin in the handle along with toothpick and tweezer) and bank line wrist laynard with Large blade, can and bottle opener, saw, scissors, phillips screw driver, corkscrew, hook, and phillips screw driver.

The only mod that i have done is replace the scales to carbon fiber, which wasn't hard, yet kinda too nervous to strip it any further. but id really like to finally get a knife that completely flips the bill.. JR

I'd love to know how to modify my SAK Champ. I go in and out of schools on a regular basis, and blades are not allowed at all. Since I rarely use the blades on the Champ, I'd love to remove them (and the saw blade also.) Then I would have a multi-tool that would not violate the law on school grounds.

Oh what to do, what to do? heck it just a Alox farmer, swap out the bottle opener with a combo, swap the can opener with a nail file, and add scissors, maybe add the hook on the bottom, or even the large file, it doesn't sound like much work, just need the parts and whatever tools to do so.. yet to get the parts is to buy like 3-4 diff knives, err.. this bites.. JR

The corkscrew is a big plus to me. I'd take it over scissors anyway.

I'm not a wine drinker, but it's easy to be the hero at a dinner party when you have a corkscrew and know how to use it.

Especially when the host can't find, or breaks their latest gimmicky piece of CCcrap that matched the kitchen colours, but doesn't work worth a damn.

LOL, true, of course i broke the corkscrew off my first SAK (which i still have) by screwing it into a branch, lol, JR
