Just wondering how (or IF) I could go about sharpening the false edge on say a Cold Steel knife with hand tools? What specifically would I need and how should I go about doing this? The false edge I'm thinking of is quite thick and a curved swedge like on a bowie or cat's claw. Any suggestions?

I have a Bush Ranger that I sharpened that way. I really screwed it up as far as the way the knife now looks, but I obtained the desired results. I now have a cutting edge on the top half of the blade about and inch and a half long. I wouldn't recommend doing this to a good knife. If you do attempt this use a steel file and a rotary tool.
