I have a Kraton handled Mark 1 and love it; BUT, I hate the dangly sheath that requires three steps - strap, strap, snap - to get the knife in and out. I like sheaths that carry the knife more up and out of the way, like those for the smaller ESEEs or the way a plain clothes guy wears his sidearm. I have thought about replacing the strap with a tek-lok but would love to hear thoughts and suggestions. I would also be more inclined to add the BK16 to my collection if it had a similar option.

You can easily snap the top strap backwards so that it goes between the two layers of your belt strap and stays there, you never have to look at it again if you so chose AND the strap that goes cross guard is on a pivot, it can easily be placed behind the sheath pointing straight down towards the ground.

Normally the retention block on the sheath itself are enough, when it isn't I snap the one crossguard and place it back behind the sheath when I'm through it. Just cos' they're three of them doesn't mean that you have to use 'em.

I also would prefer a higher belting sheath, I don't know what to do about that other sewing with dental floss (because it's stronger than any thread on this planet) right through the horizontal middle of the belt strap so that you have 2 mounting options, High and Low.

Best o' luck on your sheath quest!

Best way to go is have one of the custom kydex guys make you one. That way you can get it exactly as you want and it should not cost more than the knife itself.

I like leather high and tight, but I might be biased :) and it still costs less than the knife for sure.
