Help Stripping WW2 Officers sword !!

Just wondering if any out there could tell me how to remove a blade from a WW2 Japanese Police Officers Sword ?? This is not a samurai style sword, but a standard dress sword.

I dont know if the pin in the pommel screws out or pulls out, there is no slot for screwdriver etc just a small pin type head with brass surround. Seems to spin but nothing else happens

I regret to say I have very very little knowledge of those types of military mountings...Simply don't have the experience with them to help out much...

All I can really suggest is find a copy of Fuller and Gregory's book "Military and Civil Swords and Dirks" (I think that's what it's called)...I think they made other books on military swords too so I suggest ya keep yer eyes peeled, look on Amazon.com or wherever...will probably be most worthwhile for you.
