I just got my Busse Hell Razor Competition in the mail, what is a good sheath for it? I'm thinking nylon over kydex, I know Spec Ops is supposed to make some nice stuff, but the one I have fits my BATAC bu the Hell Razor is too big.

Thanks

I thought I had read the large spec-ops would fit, not positive though.

Dwayne(Leatherman) just finished mine and should be on the way today.

Mine may not be a large, not sure. The pics of some I have seen have a pouch on the bottom front of the sheath with a snap buckle. The one I have has a pouch on the front of the sheath with a long velcro flap, and no snap buckle. So perhaps I have a smaller model? I don't want to spend $50 ordering a Spec Ops sheath that might not fit.

I think it will fit if you mold it.

A hobby heat gun works great.

.

The plastic insert isn't long enough to properly fit the blade. The knife fits in the sheath with the insert removed, but the blade goes right to the end of the sheath and the tip has to pass through two metal gromets that hold the insert in place. I guess I need to find a bigger sheath, molding the insert isn't going to make it longer.

Edit, without the insert bolted in it works just fine, I guess I can just go sans gromet screw.

Edit 2, ugh, without the screw through the gromet the insert often comes out when the knife is drawn. Looks like a temp solution until I can find a better solution.

Sounds like you have the 6" version.

The 8" one should work.

I take the liner out, and boil it to soften, watching closely.

I try to stay away from heat guns, as I tend to over do things, and would end up with a molten blob...

YMMV

Try TadGear or Brigade Quartermasters.

I've also had good luck with eBay Spec-Ops vendors.

I recall dealing successfully with at least two of them with high feedback ratings: Tactical Gear and E.M. Gear. Never dealt with PSFSDINC Bunker.

Edited to add:

Other folks have used the 6" version for knives that stick down beyond the eyelets. To keep the liner from popping out, all you need to do is sand a little spot on the top backside of the liner, apply a spot of hot glue, and attach the liner to the nylon sheath.

I have my user HR in the longer Spec-Ops sheath with a little PSK in the front pocket. I filed a groove to accommodate the guard/talon hole, then warmed the liner with a heat gun (carefully!!:D) and custom fit it that way. With the HOG ASH, I used painter's tape, the oven, and lots of mineral oil and patience to get a good fit. Well worth the effort in both cases! Hope this helps.

The large Spec-Ops sheath fit my HR fine - although the sheath was a bit long. Perfect fit otherwise.
