Hi guys,

I'm looking for a new gadget for my kitchen, and I've settled on an immersion blender. My research has led me to choose between either the KitchenAid KHB2561 or the Cuisinart Smart Stick CSB-75BC. The KA would be $80, the Cuisinart Smart Stick would be $34.

The Cuisinart is the industry-accepted top of the line immersion blender. The KitchenAid is the runner up.

My question is addressed to any Cuisinart owners: is it battery operated or does it plug in? For those who have the KA; how does it perform with non-soup-blending activities?

Thanks in advance!

Using the IB for liquids is easy and you can simply set it at the right angle and it will completely blend and mix the liquid without moving the blender !
For nonliquid stuff it requires more work. Blend a little bit then move the blender and repeat. Once it's more of a liquid then operate it as you do with liquid.
Remember that there are home kitchen versions and monster professional types . Can't help you with brands.

Have you looked at thesweethome recommendations? that should give you a pretty good idea of what you want.

It plugs in and doesn't have a very long cord, maybe 3 feet. It has a lot of power so make sure you are holding onto the glass or bowl and it is also somewhat top heavy and will tip over quite easily as my husband found out. Hope this helps.
Look at some reviews for more information on consumersearch and topreviews.best
