I have a Schrade folder, two blades, that has K-77 on the shield on the handle, tang stamp has Schrade Walden Stainless N.Y. U.S.A. and on the other side 825

Any ideas on this one, and the meaning or significance of the K-77

Thanks!!

Fixed the old threads that LRV pulled up. Here is the advertisement from Norm Thompson Outfitters. Notice the picture in the ad is an earlier version, with threaded bolsters, and the PAT PENDING etch. I would date the ad at 1964 or 1965. Pretty nice $5.00 deal!

Thundermoon, is yours the older example with threaded bolsters, or the one with the more recent etch?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe K-77. And a couple that followed after. Schrade 893 with carbon blades, and the 93OT.

Anyone got another version of this two bladed jack? It is 3 9/16" closed.

Thank you!! Mine has the smooth bolsters, and I can see the faint etch on the blade now, didn't catch it before. You guys amaze me, thanks for your help!! Based on the etch and smooth bolsters what would you estimate the year at?
Thanks again!

It would probably be somewhere in the late 60's to early 70's. And I'd lean towards the 60's. The first year for the 825 SS was 1964. The Schrade Walden stamps changed to Schrade NY in 1973. Very hard to put an exact date on a Schrade.
