Found an axe with my metal detector and trying to identify. New to axes, Researched it looking like a Michigan style Cruiser? But Looks like and measures up the same as a True Temper Red Warrior by Kelly Works that I found on ebay. http://http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vintage-True-Temper-Kelly-Works-Red-Warrior-Double-Bit-Cruiser-Axe-/201198435206?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ed85c7b86
Bit is 4 1/8, length is 8 1/4. But mine weights 2.75 pounds and his weight 2.2, so there was a difference. Mine looks like no one had put an edge on it either.
Unfortunately, I just realized I can't post photos without a url and mine are on my computer....sigh. No way to post pics from my computer???

Try uploading the pics to Photobucket, then it will give you 4 options. click on the 4th and it will copy and you can past the photo here.

You can also use Google Drive, I believe.

I'm trying to find out why I can't see these photos at all on my post. I just get X boxes. Even your reply is just 2 X boxes...

Well I finally got the photobucket slideshow to work on my 4th post down! Sorry people. This thread already looks like a mess and I can't delete my test posts.

It's anyone's guess who made it without finding a makers mark. But what you have there is a cruiser axe with very little wear. That's a good find. I'd call yours a western pattern which I like better than a Michigan. Resale value is low without a stamp but it will make a fine user.

Clean it. Sharpen it. Hang it. Use it. Enjoy.

Congrats

Thanks. I'm currently looking for ways to clean it up. Now soaking in Cider Vinegar. Maybe the logo with pop out....

From the photobucket page,

under Share Links (on the right side), there is an IMG code that you can copy and paste directly into your forum reply:

Thanks. I'm giving it a try here. I finished my first soak and scrub in vinegar. Its looking great! The dark bit lines are still on the axe and like it was brand new when lost! The back side is worse, but I'm hoping the brand name appears. It's very exciting...
