HELP, trying to add a choil.

does anyone know how to add a choil properly. I am trying to do a custom bk 2 with a choil, jimping, and custom patina. I did one one on a bk2 with a hand drill and dremel but it was very tedious. any insight would be great. p.s. tools are limited.

I used a dremel sanding drum and dipped the blade every few seconds as not to over heat the edge.

Sanding drums for a drill press can be used in a hand held drill and are not very expensive.http://www.harborfreight.com/20-piece-sanding-drum-kit-42006.html

I like dremel tungsten carbide bits.

Edit: a 3/16 chainsaw file works well also, it's just slower.

After the knife is made it is harder to make them but I have seen a Dremel used with cut-off blades. The lines were marked with fine sharpie then carefully cut. Before a knife is heat treated, when it is being made, they are sometimes drilled. A blank of steel is marked with two blade patterns with the spines back to back. Then holes drilled where the jimping will go. When the blank is cut out, you cut down the middle of the jimping holes and get half moon jimping on each.
