Help wanted with Alpha Dorado 270

It's not often I try to find out information on a knife and come up with zip. Looking at an Alpha Dorado 270 with what I believe to me Mastodon or Mammoth Ivory handles with a tooth inlay. It might be 270MTSLE. I cannot find this knife on the Special Projects List or in the catalogs. I also did a quick look in the newsletters with no luck. I would like to know 3 things. Who was it made for..... What was the original MSRP.... and any help with value (to purchase). If you have any help with the last, please send it to my email. /Roger
 
Coincidentally, I found a 503 with the same layout you describe....
 
Check the March 2008 news letter 271 dorado, Shep hills issue. There is one floating around one of the auction sites I'm sure.

Both are "___MTSLE"
 
Ok the 503 & 505 versions are listed in the 2008 news letter list as 2006 4th Qtr LE's? no mention of the 271 version.

Yes, I took a look thank you. This was at the local knife show this weekend, dealer was too high but couldn't come up with any comparables in time to make a realistic fair offer when I returned today. Pretty knife. Interestingly, the model code was 0270 but the tang stamp was 271.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Wow, what a nice 4 knife set they would make... 110, 270, 503, and 505.

Did not buy the knife. Asking was $640. More than double where my head was at without more information.
Time to move on.
